Diabolik has been published monthly in Italy since 1962 by the publisher Astorina. The series has been a huge success in Italy and has been translated into many languages around the world. In 2021, a film inspired by the Diabolik series was directed by Francesco Andreini and was released in Italy on January 1, 2021. The film stars David Coco as Diabolik and Miriam Leone as Eva Kant. In addition to Diabolik and Eva Kant, the series also includes other important characters such as Commissioner Ginko, Diabolik's sworn enemy, and the pharaonic billionaire Altea, who Diabolik has often targeted in his thefts.
