JOSEPE is a French comic book writer, graphic designer, and illustrator.
Graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Angoulême in 1995, Josepe is an adventurer in the world of comics. His narrative work is intimately connected to a graphic exploration that draws inspiration from both 16th-century engravers and masters of the black and white in the 9th Art.
While he started publishing in various editorial realms from 1988 (from Fluide Glacial to Grafzine), he also chose to express himself through independent publishing and several collectives. His freedom led him towards an unwavering nonconformity to traditional publishing.
An admirer of Breccia and Moebius (for his meticulous use of empty space), he has been working for about a decade within the Forges Graphiques de Belloloco, which he founded alongside Julie M.
Within this structure, he publishes, exhibits, and participates in numerous fairs and festivals, showcasing his work. It's also where he initiated and refined a major project Les Chroniques du Gévaudan (with Christophe Chaumette) over several years.
