Gradimir SMUDJA is a Yugoslav cartoonist and screenwriter.
After attending the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, he was a cartoonist in a newspaper, before working as a painter in museums and galleries in Western Europe.
He left Yugoslavia in 1982 for political reasons and found asylum in Switzerland. He worked there as a copyist, before going to Italy where he became a drawing teacher in Lucca.
This is where he will take his first steps in comics, starting in the early 2000s. In several of his albums, we find his know-how for the imitation of certain artists, including Vincent Van Gogh, Hokusai and Toulouse-Lautrec.
Drawing artist of great talent, he is also a connoisseur of the history of painting !
