François BOUCQ is a French cartoonist, also working as an illustrator. Born in Lille and still addicted to his city, Boucq is a comic strip journalist, interested in our society and its excesses, all under the prism of humour and shift. After Pilote et Fluide Glacial, his first albums were published in 1981 (The Pioneers of the Human Adventure) and very quickly the success is there. In 1984, this is in the pages of the magazine A suivre that appears for the first time the character of Jérôme Moucherot, insurer-explorer in leopard costume. Through this character, and by surfing both on reality and on delusions (a shark that comes out of the wall and kidnaps the hero’s son, in Volume 1), Boucq sketches our world, by the absurd and the deep!! Grand Prix of the Angoulême Festival in 1998, Boucq has, in his last years, illustrated politics and justice, notably through the Carlton trial, the french presidential election of 2017 or also the tweets of Donald Trump.
