Philippe DELABY is a Belgian cartoonist.
After studying at the School of Fine Arts in Tournai, he also took courses related to the printing trades and became passionate about cinema during his adolescence.
After his studies, he joined Le Journal de Tintin and published his first plates there. Working with various writers, his first publications were short didactic stories, before moving on to historical comics.
Endowed with a great classical pictorial culture, his work is strongly imprinted by it, through a silky and strong classicism, just as it is marked by the Ancient Rome that fascinates him. His masterpiece remains Murena written by his friend Jean Dufaux.
Philippe Delaby died suddenly, carried away by a heart attack in his 53rd year.
