Philippe DELABY

Philippe DELABY is a Belgian comic book artist.
After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tournai, he joined Le Journal de Tintin, where he published his first comic pages. Working with various writers, his early publications consisted of short educational stories before he gradually turned to historical comics.
Endowed with a strong classical pictorial culture, his work reflects this influence through a powerful and refined classicism, while also bearing the mark of his fascination with Ancient Rome. His masterwork remains Murena, written by his friend Jean Dufaux.
Philippe Delaby passed away suddenly from a heart attack at the age of 52.
